Queen Latifah will unleash her wrath upon all the poor unfortunate souls later this year, when she stars in ABC’s live musical remake of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid."
Moana’s Auli’I Cravalho will play Ariel, while Queen Latifah and Shaggy will co-star as Ursula and Sebastian, respectively.
The Newark native will play the story’s villain, Ursula, on the special which airs on November 5, a Deadline report says. The project was delayed after first being announced in 2017.
The live musical, not to be confused with next year’s planned live action remake movie, will coincide with The Little Mermaid’s 30th anniversary. Deadline says it will also feature puppetry and animation to make Ariel’s undersea world come to life. It will also incorporate songs from the original film and the Broadway version, the report says.
