The rapper Drake sampled a Michael Jackson song in his recent album “Scorpion”, on the track “Don’t Matter to Me”, in which he previously performed in concert in the U.S. in 2018. However, Drake omitted the song featuring Michael Jackson from the set list of his U.K. tour “Assassination Vacation”, on Sunday in northern England.
The U.K. and U.S. shows included the same opening and closing numbers, but omitted this Jackson-sampling song. The second concert is scheduled in Manchester tonight; however, currently there is no explanation for the omission of the song.
This sudden change comes after the wake of the controversy over “Leaving Neverland,” the documentary about the alleged sexual abuse of the two boys the late Michael Jackson befriended.
The “Assassination Vacation” tour show runs through April and includes stops in Antwerp, Amsterdam, London, and Paris. It is still unknown whether Drake will reinstate “Don’t Matter to Me” in any future concerts.
