The photo above pretty much sums up who dominated this year's VMAs. Between Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, they received a total of 6 awards- one going to Lady Gaga as the first ever MTV Tricon Award; recognizing her as an icon in fashion, music, and philanthropy.
Besides all of the awards for "Rain On Me," there were plenty must-see moments at the VMAs this year. So if you missed it ,you're in the right place.
First, we have to give a shout out the very talented and gorgeous host- Keke Palmer. The actress/singer/talk show host made history as she was the 2nd youngest person to ever host the VMAs and the 1st women of color to host the entire show alone. Not only did she do a great job and serve looks, but she also had a mini performance of her own single, "Snack!"

The show opened up with an awesome performance from The Weeknd who took home awards for Best R&B and Video of the Year for "Blinding Lights." In each of his acceptance speeches he asked for justice for Jacob Blake and Breonna Taylor, so you know we #STAN.
We also got to see Da Baby deliver a fire performance with the Jabbawockeez, but he wasn't able to pull off any of the awards he was nominated for, unfortunately. Most notably, the award for Best Hip Hop ended up going to Megan Thee Stallion. She won over the Da Baby, Travis Scott, Roddy Ricch and more!
Other memorable moments include, Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga's performance! The choreography, the fits and the energy was there! Doja Cat also gave us some sexy choreo with the vocals to match in her performance- concluded with an award for Best New Artist!

All-in-all, it was a great night for musicians everywhere and despite covid restrictions and remote audiences, I think fans enjoyed it as well. For more of what you missed check out @vmas.
